Wilkes Correctional Center is a minimum-security male facility
located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina which is part
of the Western Region.  The minimum age for inmates is
18+ and the total capacity is 262 inmates with an average
of 234 working at some job activity.  It has 62 staff members
and an average of 1500 volunteers helping with programs
during the year.

The facility houses prisoners who are a minimum escape
risk and are in good health for work release.  Most have
jobs either in the community or onsite.  They also
take educational courses such as GED and computer literacy.
